Weekendtrip to Vienna for international PhD Students and Post Docs

On a summer weekend we will visit Vienna – would you like to join us? After a 9-hour bus trip, we will start discovering the Friday nightlife of the Austrian capital. For centuries, Vienna has been a cultural and political core of Europe. The wonderful traditional centre and numerous buildings are still telling about the significant history of this town. On Saturday morning, we would like to gain insights into the city beauty and history via an English-speaking guided tour. Afterwards, we will have a lot of free time for going out in small groups or individually in order to visit the historical highlights (e.g. Stephansdom, Castle Schönbrunn), to enjoy the culinary delicacies of the “Naschmarkt” or just for looking around and listening to the Viennese dialect. In the evening, we would like to be inspired by the Viennese theatre and cultural scene. We will start returning back to Halle on Sunday noon (return time ca. 9 p.m.).

Date: June 17-19, 2011
Participation Fee: 130 € per person

If you want to join this tour, please read the document attached with detailed information, fill in the registration form and submit it via postal service, fax or email (scanned document with signature) to the International Office (see above) until April 25, 2011. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation with the request to pay the participation fee and further information. Your family and friends are welcome to participate, too. The number of participants is limited. Thus, you might register as soon as possible!

We are looking forward to a wonderful trip! Elli Mack, Regine Brandt, and Elena Trawkina of the PhD Network Team
